Offering to beta
Hi mods. I don't write and I'm currently too poor to buy/bid, but one thing I could do is beta for the writers who are doing their bit for this cause. I'm basically inept at navigating LJ but I do editing for a living so the beta thing - I've got that down. I figure most authors probably have a beta if they use one, but maybe someone could use some help - even just proofreading - to save them some time to meet these bids. I mostly stick to Glee and slash at that, but that's personal reading preference. Wouldn't necessarily apply in this context. If you think this would be useful and well received by the authors, perhaps you can put the authors in touch with me: < queen.david.of.oz at gmail.com > and they could email me their fic or just drop me a line to see if they think we'd be a good fit for the purpose. I should mention I can't do rape or non-con (triggers), but dub-con is ok, and I know nothing about vampires, zombies or the horror genre in general - they give me nightmares so I totally avoid them.Fandoms I would be comfortable/confident with: Glee, Dr Who, Torchwood, NCIS, Greys Anatomy, Harry Potter, most sci-fi. But if it's just proofreading - then anything is ok except rape, non-con, vampires, zombies or horror. Thanks, and I hope this can be of some help, David_of_oz.

Oh great! I'm really happy about this - I've hated being too broke to donate, and when the big floods hit in Brisbane I couldn't physically help either 'cause I've got a bum leg at the moment, so I'm looking forward to doing something! Yes - that's fine. Maybe make it a little clearer that my betaing is my donation to the cause. (I thought it was clear but...)
